Fosfofagias

7:40 pm

The “Fosfofagias” are ceremonies that take place in an intriguing and dark space with fluorescent drinks and food. Somehow we could say it is a blind space where light is eaten. They are collective celebrations where senses are affected by the absence of light, cancelling almost completely the visual elements in order to maximise and emphasise on taste, touch and smell. Furthermore, the spectator is invited to eat the artistic piece, so his body becomes the medium where the picture is generated. The ingested light will be ejected from the body by causing fluorescence in the organic waste: faeces, urine, sweat, saliva or tears. The piece is eaten, and once consumed, it stays in bodily memory, leaving only residues to bear witness to what had happened there
